Residents living in HIG-E Residential College have the unique opportunity to engage in service as part of their living experience. There are two main ways that residents can get involved.

The first way is through our sustained service project. Since 2006, HIG-E has been involved in an established community partnership in which residents do service in the St. Louis community. For the 2009-2010 school year, this program is being greatly expanded to provide our residents with more opportunities for engaging in service and learning. Our program is themed around the central topic of Homelessness, and the many different issues that are involved in this important social topic.

The second way is through other service projects and events that are planned by our two Community Service Mentors. These two student staff members will be planning a wide variety of events throughout the year, and we hope that you will choose to attend or get involved.

It is the hope of our staff to create a culture of service learning in our Residential College, and we hope that you will choose to get involved.
